INTRODUCING THE PR RACING SB401-R

The 2026 PR Racing SB401-R is the latest evolution of PR Racing's competition 1/10 4WD off-road buggy platform.

Developed specifically for modern high-grip racing, this Carpet Edition combines a revised 2.5mm V2 aluminium chassis, updated suspension geometry, larger 13mm Type R shocks with 18mm springs and a dedicated One-Way Slipper Clutch drivetrain configuration.

For 2026, PR Racing has focused on increasing stability without taking away the agility and steering response needed on today's fast carpet and artificial-surface tracks.

The Carpet Edition receives several dedicated components, including narrower front suspension mounts, a revised servo mount, forward-positioned rear shock tower and B10R-style rear hub system.

A purpose-built 4WD competition buggy developed for serious carpet racing.

13MM TYPE R SHOCK PACKAGE

One of the major updates to the 2026 SB401-R is the new 13mm Type R shock package.

The larger shock bodies are paired with 18mm diameter springs, increasing damping capability while retaining the responsive feel required from a 1/10 competition buggy.

New machined 13mm tapered shock pistons can be installed in either orientation, providing an additional tuning option for changing the damping characteristics of the car.

Updated shock seals and seal caps are designed to provide smooth, consistent operation, completing a substantially revised damper package for the 2026 car.

CARPET-SPECIFIC FRONT GEOMETRY

The Carpet Edition receives dedicated -1mm FF and FR front suspension mounts, reducing the front track width compared with the standard configuration.

The narrower geometry is designed to give the SB401-R a more aggressive front-end response, helping the car change direction quickly on high-grip carpet tracks.

PR Racing's aluminium 8-degree front C-hub spindle carriers and medium-hardness front wishbones complete a precise and responsive front suspension package.

ONE-WAY SLIPPER CLUTCH

The Front One-Way Slipper Clutch configuration comes as standard on the Carpet Edition.

Designed specifically with high-grip racing in mind, the one-way system helps improve the car's behaviour during jumping, corner entry and direction changes while retaining strong acceleration out of the corner.

It provides another important tuning and performance element to the carpet-specific SB401-R package rather than requiring racers to purchase the system separately.

NEW V2 CHASSIS & SERVO MOUNT

At the centre of the 2026 SB401-R is a revised 2.5mm aluminium V2 chassis.

The new chassis has been designed to increase strength while carefully positioned machining allows the chassis to retain the flex required to generate mechanical grip.

A new V2 aluminium servo mount further influences chassis flex. Rather than excessively restricting the centre of the car, the revised mounting arrangement allows additional movement through the chassis, helping provide a more forgiving and stable platform.

A 1.5mm carbon-fibre servo spacer is also included as part of the updated steering installation.

FORWARD REAR SHOCK POSITION

The Carpet Edition features a new rear gearbox case that moves the rear shock tower forward by 7mm.

Changing the rear shock position alters the dynamic behaviour of the rear suspension and is designed to help the SB401-R rotate more quickly through the corner.

The result is increased rear-end agility and corner speed – particularly useful on the tight, technical layouts commonly found in modern indoor carpet racing.

New V2 carbon-fibre front and rear shock towers provide the updated suspension geometry, with a front shock tower guard included to help protect the carbon tower during racing.

B10R-STYLE REAR HUB SYSTEM

The 2026 SB401-R Carpet Edition also adopts a B10R-derived rear hub arrangement, opening up additional setup possibilities at the rear of the car.

Aluminium CNC rear hub components, revised 69mm CVA bones and 4x34.5mm stub axles form part of the updated rear drivetrain and suspension package.

Combined with the medium-hardness gullwing rear wishbones, the system provides racers with further adjustment to tune the SB401-R for different carpet layouts and grip conditions.

BUILT FOR MODERN 4WD RACING

The 2026 SB401-R Carpet Edition brings together a substantial number of updates specifically aimed at modern high-grip 1/10 off-road racing.

From the larger Type R shocks and revised chassis to the narrower front suspension geometry, forward rear shock position and One-Way Slipper Clutch, the Carpet Edition is much more than a change of setup from the standard car.

It is a dedicated carpet specification of PR Racing's latest 4WD competition platform.
